The Jumeirah Beach Hotel is one of the most iconic and recognisable structures to have been constructed in Dubai over the last twenty years. The hotel is a landmark wave shaped building and represents the best of UAE high end hospitality. To keep up to date with global tourism trends, the owners have embarked on a comprehensive interior refurbishment programme which will maintain the resort’s position as a leading leisure destination of choice. Under instruction by the owners, AK Design was appointed by a reputable international PM firm to act as the Lead Design Consultant for these Phase 2 works. Our remit centered on all design stage tasks as well as providing a site supervision team to oversee successful fitout delivery in a live environment.
The project components for the Phase 2 assignment included the refurbishment of circa 200 guest rooms, suites and corridors on multiple levels within the North Wing as well as designing a number of retail units on the ground floor and delivering a new staff dining experience located in the South Wing basement level. AK Design were tasked with compiling a series of quality standard drawing packages for each room type, detail design for MEP end of system reconfigurations and structural duties in relation to new interconnecting doors located at critical points throughout the height of the building. Throughout all stages and tasks, AK Design provided the necessary leadership to uphold building industry standards and facilitate quality site execution to programme.
